As a Wetland Scientist, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our team by supporting a range of projects in the areas of wetlands delineations, endangered species habitat assessments, and environmental assessments. Your primary responsibilities will include working closely with senior professionals to support various development projects including natural gas pipeline and renewable energy. The ideal candidate has a foundational understanding of stream/wetland determination/delineation methods, and plant identification skills specific to the Northeast area.
Responsibilities
- Lead field efforts including wetland determination/delineation surveys, flora/fauna surveys, and habitat assessments; as well as the completion of associated reporting.
- Clearly communicate ecological and biological aspects of proposed projects to regulatory authorities and other relevant stakeholders.
- Complete monitoring, tracking, reporting, record keeping, and related activities to support clients’ ongoing environmental compliance programs.
- Conduct data collection and analysis for inclusion in technical reports.
- Engage in current environmental regulation and emerging technologies research.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor or Master of Science degree in environmental science, biology, ecology, or similar.
- Excellent critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail required.
- Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively within multiple levels of staff and clients.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex regulatory and technical documents.
- Proven practical skills in drafting technical reports and deliverables.
- Computer literacy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, project management software tools, and the ability to adapt to new software programs as needed.
- Physical requirements may include the need for stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing/sitting/walking, pushing/pulling, and lifting.
- Valid driver’s license required.

Pay: $45,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
