This is a continuous recruitment and may close at any time without notice.EXAMINATION SCHEDULE: Qualified candidates will be notified of the testing date five days prior to the examination.Examination: Written Exam (Weight 100%): Will be conducted for the purpose of assessing the applicant's knowledge of applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations; basic accounting principles; processes and procedures in assigned area of responsibility; bookkeeping principles; standard office equipment and procedures; data entry techniques; customer service principles; filing techniques, and other relevant topics.Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on the examination.The Human Resources Division may solely conduct an appraisal of application materials should there be an insufficient number of candidates to warrant a written examination. Minimum Qualifications/ Employment Standards: High School Diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent and two years of fiscal support, bookkeeping, accounting support or experience related to the area of assignment; or, one year equivalent to a Fiscal Support Technician in the Kern County classification system; or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to obtain the knowledge and skill to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must submit a bilingual (English/Spanish) certificate before the final filing deadline.Applicants who wish to be considered for bilingual employment must submit a bilingual certificate issued by the Kern County Human Resources Division or its authorized agent, Bakersfield College.Access the following website for information about where to obtain a qualifying certificate: https://www.bakersfieldcollege.edu/academics/career-education/bilingual-testing.html Employees who occupy positions designated as bilingual are paid dependent upon the required level of proficiency.Please ensure applicable materials are attached to your application.
