Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing billing processes, ensuring accurate coding, and maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations. This role is crucial in facilitating the financial operations of our medical office while ensuring that patient records are handled with the utmost care and confidentiality.

Duties

• Review and verify patient information and medical records to ensure accuracy in billing.
• Perform medical coding using ICD-9 and ICD-10 systems for various procedures and diagnoses.
• Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies and follow up on outstanding claims.
• Manage accounts receivable, including medical collections and payment processing.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in patient records or billing information.
• Maintain organized records of all billing activities, including payments received and outstanding balances.
• Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices to ensure compliance.

Skills

• Proficiency in medical coding and billing practices, including knowledge of ICD-9, ICD-10, DRG, and other relevant coding systems.
• Strong understanding of medical office operations and healthcare regulations.
• Excellent attention to detail with strong analytical skills for reviewing patient records and billing information.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, insurance companies, and healthcare providers regarding billing inquiries.
• Familiarity with medical collection processes and best practices for handling outstanding accounts.
• Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently within a fast-paced environment.

Pay: $17.00 - $22.91 per hour
