Have you thought about working in a hospital or skilled nursing facility, assisting nurses and other medical staff? Please join us to earn your certification as Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) with training from Kern Valley Healthcare District. Learn to provide compassionate care to patient and residents while assisting with activities of daily living. The Kern Valley Healthcare District’s NATP Interviews are scheduled for March 18th, and March 19th. Orientation is scheduled for April 21st through April 25th. Classes will begin on Monday, April 28th, 2025.
CNA work is both physically and emotionally demanding. CNA’s provide daily care to multiple patients and elderly residents, which include but are not limited to feeding, bathing, dressing, oral hygiene, assisting in use of bedpan or commode, ambulating/mobility, and other general care as needed.
High School Graduate or equivalent, must have good interpersonal skills, interface professionally, tactfully, and respectfully with residents, staff, and the general public. Basic computer skills required.
To participate in the CNA course, all students MUST successfully complete the following: Certified Background Check, LIVE Scan, Health Exam and a fitness for duty exam, CNA Student Physical, Provide Proof of childhood immunization records, Oral Drug Test, Nurse Assistant Program Application.
