Qualifications: High school diploma required, associates degree preferred. Must have excellent computer skills including proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software programs. Must have the ability to learn the Assessor’s CAMA software and GIS/Mapping software. Knowledge of real estate and tax laws would be an asset. Ability to work well with the public and operate general office equipment (i.e. copier, fax, scanner) is required. Must be dependable, prompt, friendly, and a team player. Must pass drug screening.
Responsibilities:
- Answers the telephone; provides accurate information and assistance to callers and/or forwards calls to the appropriate personnel.
- Greets customers at the front counter; kindly and confidently fields questions from customers and provides information if able or connects them with the correct office or staff member.
- Accepts applications and assists customers filing for property exemptions and appeals.
- Process building permits and address changes.
- Read and interpret tax maps.
- Enter and retrieve data from CAMA software.
- File and organize property cards, address changes, permits, etc.
- Manage office supply orders for the office.
- Assist the Assessor in budget processes and manage cash till for copy payments and other receivables.
- Manage ingoing and outgoing mail for the office.
- Walking, standing, stooping, bending, climbing, and lifting up to 50 pounds in order to perform daily office tasks.
Perform other related duties as required.
