The Role

The Director of Distribution Operations is a hands-on, roll up your sleeves, operations role; equal parts Player and Coach, responsible for managing, administering, and supporting our Warehousing and Fulfillment Teams and operations. This Director will provide innovative leadership and support of current staff as well as managing outsourced support relationships, contractors, and vendors. The position is responsible for 45-55 employees and 3-4 supervisors.

Distribution Operations at Kerusso consists of all the steps required to plan, receive, put away, pick, pack, and ship thousands of sku’s each and every day. The position reports directly to Vic Kennett, Founder & CEO, and will work closely with other senior leaders to drive execution and seek improvements in operational processes that increase the company’s effectiveness and enterprise value.

The Director of Distribution Operations will apply best practices of Lean, Six Sigma, and 6 S to respond to business challenges and help to advance organizational goals. The Director will be detail and action oriented and an excellent communicator.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and coordinate daily receiving, warehousing, and shipping activities in multiple warehouses.
• Oversee the receiving/put-away and associated record keeping, maintaining inventory accuracy, order processing, productivity, safety, accuracy, returns processing, pick/pack, Wal-Mart pick/pack, and quality control.
• Hiring/training/ Coaching, planning/assigning daily work, addressing performance issues, conducting performance appraisals, and resolving employee issues.
• Ensure that daily operations meet or exceed daily performance expectations through continuous improvements, lean processing, commitment to detail, and focusing on safety.
• Implement and hold accountable to 6 S methodologies.

Qualifications and Key Skills

• 10 years of warehouse and fulfillment management experience
• Proven ability to direct and coordinate operations in a multi-task warehouse setting
• Highly effective supervisory skills and techniques
• Knowledge of warehouse software packages (WMS) and proficiency in MS Office
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Ability to input, retrieve and analyze data
• Ability to meet physical requirements including: a variety of standing, sitting and walking, lifting to 50 pounds, occasional climbing of ladders, usage of pallet jacks, and working in heated warehouse conditions
• Maintain inventory accuracy at a high-level, through proper inventory transactions
• Maintain effectiveness in order processing for internal and external customers
• Manage a frequently changing “pick/pack” operation
• Measure and report the effectiveness of warehousing activities and employee performance
• Clearly communicate job expectations and coach employees
• Observe health and safety regulations by maintaining warehouse in a clean, safe, and orderly condition
• Track record of improving operating efficiencies while reducing costs.
• Experience negotiating complex domestic and international delivery contracts
• Experience with warehouse technology and automation (WMS operations, handheld processing technology, automated packing systems, EDI, Retailer ASN systems, etc.)

Location

The role is based on-site in our company headquarters in BERRYVILLE, AR. one-hour east of Fayetteville, Springdale, Rogers, and Bentonville, and 45 minutes south of Branson, MO.

Salary : $87,800 - $111,000
