JOB PURPOSE
We are currently seeking an AEGIS System Engineer to oversee the technical management and implementation of the AEGIS Combat System across various naval platforms. This role requires a deep understanding of network engineering, system administration, and cybersecurity within maritime defense environments. The AEGIS System Engineer will be responsible for the assembly, integration, and operational maintenance of advanced naval combat systems, ensuring they meet rigorous defense standards and operational readiness. This position involves collaboration with multiple defense agencies to align system capabilities with strategic defense objectives, providing a critical link between technology implementation and national security initiatives.
JOB RESPONSIBILITY SUMMARY
- Expertly navigate and manage Linux-based systems, ensuring effective system administration, troubleshooting, and optimization across various distributions to maintain high operational standards and reliability.
- Implement and troubleshoot network configurations such as static routes, advanced routing protocols, port channels, and VLANs, optimizing network efficiency and traffic flow.
- Assemble, integrate, and install components of advanced shipboard emulation systems and network service peripherals for both lab-based and operational testing.
- Interpret and apply technical documentation to accurately set up and configure advanced shipboard emulation systems from server racks to logical configurations, ensuring comprehensive system integrity and readiness.
- Apply systems engineering best practices in assembling, integrating, installing, and maintaining Shipboard Combat Systems, including Advanced Capability Builds and Shipboard Self Defense Systems (SSDS).
- Manage the Aegis Weapon System deployment, ensuring effective operation within naval defense parameters and alignment with current tactical and technological requirements.
- Collaborate with defense agencies and internal teams to ensure system compliance and readiness.
- Provide dedicated technical support during all mission test phases, ensuring systems meet operational objectives and address any arising issues promptly.
- Conduct regular system maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and uphold continuous operational capabilities across all systems and components.
