We are looking for a friendly, dependable, and customer-focused Cashier to join our family at Kessler's! As a Cashier, you will be responsible for ensuring accurate transactions, maintaining a clean work environment, and providing exceptional service to our customers. You will be the face of our Customer Care department, handling various transactions and assisting with company programs while ensuring a smooth and positive shopping experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cleaning: Keep the cashier lane clean and organized, ensuring the area is ready for customers throughout the shift.
• Fast & Friendly Service: Provide excellent customer service by engaging customers with a warm, friendly attitude, ensuring they feel welcomed and valued.
• Greeting & Thanking: Greet customers as they approach the register (e.g., inquire if they found everything they were looking for, assist with parcel handling or fuel perks cards) and thank them at the conclusion of each transaction.
• Price Accuracy: Ensure prices are correct at the point of sale (POS) and communicate any discrepancies to the customer.
• Drawer Accuracy: Maintain accurate drawer balances and count back change to customers as needed.
• Outgoing & Engaging: Maintain a friendly and outgoing demeanor, engaging with customers and representing the Customer Care department. Have a passion for helping others and creating positive experiences.
• Program Expert: Be knowledgeable about company programs (such as fuel perks, vouchers, coupons, and triple coupon Sundays) and apply them correctly to transactions.
• Transaction Expert: Accurately process various forms of payment, including cash, checks, charge accounts, vouchers, credit cards, WIC, and EBT.
• Schedule Availability: Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
• Age regulated duties: Check out items such as liquor, cigarettes and lottery.

• Previous cashier or retail experience preferred
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Comfortable handling cash and performing basic math operations
• Knowledgeable about company programs and policies (or willing to learn)
• Friendly, engaging, and approachable personality
• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays
