Behavior Clinician (BC)
Kestrel Behavioral Health (KBH) is seeking a contracted Behavior Clinician (BC) to provide 15-20 hours per week of on-site behavior support services at an Intermediate Care Facility for individuals with intellectual disabilities (ICF/ID) in Putnam County, Indiana. Each BC is responsible for coordinating and implementing behavior assessment and treatment plans to benefit individuals across a caseload, as assigned by the Executive Director.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in a mental health field that meets 460 IAC 6-5-4 Behavioral Support Services Provider Qualifications for a BC. In general, this means having a master's degree in psychology, counseling, social work, special education, or a similar field. Having a clinical license is not required, but this is a credential that is valued by KBH. All employees must maintain a valid driver’s license and show proof of auto insurance. All employees are required to submit a satisfactory background check upon hire.
Experience providing clinical services in the field of intellectual and developmental disabilities is preferred, but not required for this position.
This position is supervised by the Executive Director and the Level 1 Supervisor for HSPP oversight of treatment plans.
Job Responsibilities:
A. Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) as needed across caseload.
B. Design and implement Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) as needed across caseload.
C. Train caregivers, including parents and/or paid staff. This training can include BSP training or other Positive Behavior Support strategies designed to improve an individual’s quality of life.
D. Monitor progress on BSPs and report to each individual’s Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) as required by regulation.
E. Maintain all documentation on assessments, BSPs, and reports.
F. Follow agency procedures to document all billable activity and transfer (by the fifth of each month) those records to the KBH employee responsible for billing.
G. Coordinate with Human Rights Committees (HRCs) as needed to ensure appropriate approvals of BSPs.
H. Provide services in cooperation with the other members of each client’s IDT.
I. Maintain client records for all active cases and ensure smooth transfer of records to the administrative division of the agency for all closed cases.
