POSITION: CAREER TECHNICAL FIRE SCIENCE TEACHER
Effective 2025-26 School Year
LOCATION: KETTERING FAIRMONT HIGH SCHOOL
GENERAL INFORMATION: Seeking a person with the ability to work with students on an individual basis to learn skills related to the Fire Science/EMS training field. This person is expected to facilitate relationships with community agencies, industry partners, and Sinclair Community College. This position has 10 extended service days that are scheduled throughout the school year or summer.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES, Partial List:
- Develops daily educational objectives and career field related experiences.
- Supervises and manages all practical activities.
- Participates in school-wide programs and activities.
- Communicates with parents and guardians of assigned students.
- Maintains records regarding student progress.
- Provides a variety of instructional experiences for all students.
- Recruits and coordinates adjunct fire instructors.
- Coordinates job shadowing and ride along experiences for students.
- Collaborate with Sinclair Community College to meet charter/accreditation Requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS, Partial List:
- Minimum of 5 years of related work experience.
- Must pass criminal background checks and pre-employment drug screening.
- Collaboration and problem-solving skills.
- Educational technology skills.
- Fire/EMS instructors preferred.
SALARY: According to the approved teacher salary schedule.
