Responsibilities & Requirements:
The Director of Total Rewards will be responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing evaluation of the organization’s compensation and benefits programs, including base pay, incentive pay, health and welfare benefits, worksite solutions and retirement benefits. The Director of Total Rewards is pivotal in shaping and leading the organizations reward strategy, supporting recruiting and retention.
Ensures compensation and benefits programs remain within budgetary constraints. Monitors trends and provides recommendations for improvements. Creates policies and initiatives to ensure compensation and benefits programs follow all legal and organizational rules and guidelines. Responsible for ensuring that compensation and benefits programs support Kettering Health’s business objectives. Will work closely with Senior Leadership and HR team s to ensure our total rewards package aligns with our organization objectives and supports our employees’ well-being and engagement.
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Total Rewards Strategy: Develop and execute a holistic total rewards strategy aligned with Kettering Health’s goals and values.
- Compensation Management: Oversee the design, implementation, and administration of competitive programs, including base pay, variable pay, and equity compensation, ensuring alignment with market trends.
- Benefits Administration: Lead the management of employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, wellness initiatives, and other perks, ensuring they meet the diverse needs of our workforce.
- Payroll Administration: Oversee the management of payroll operations for the organization. Responsible for ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees, compliance with relevant regulations, and implementation of best practices in payroll administration.
- Recognition Programs: Develop and implement employee recognition and reward programs that foster a culture of appreciation and reinforce desired behaviors and outcomes.
- Performance Management: Collaborate with HR partners to integrate total rewards elements into the performance management process, ensuring alignment with individual and organizational performance goals.
- Data Analysis: Utilize data analytics and benchmarking to assess the effectiveness of total rewards programs, identify areas for improvement, and make data-driven recommendations to senior leadership.
- Compliance and Governance: Stay abreast of relevant regulations and industry best practices related to compensation and benefits, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and adherence to governance standards.
- Vendor Management: Manage relationships with external vendors, consultants, and service providers to optimize the delivery of total rewards programs and services.
- Communication and Education: Develop communication strategies to effectively educate employees about our total rewards offering, including compensation, benefits, and other perks, and empower them to make informed decisions.
- Employee Engagement: Partner with HR and business leaders to enhance employee engagement and satisfaction through innovative total rewards initiatives that enhance the employee experience.
- Team Development: Provide guidance and development to reporting managers.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, personnel administration or closely related field. PHR/SHRM-CP, SPHR/SHRM-SCP, CBP or CCP a plus
Experience: Extensive experience in total rewards management, with at least 5 years of progressive responsibility in compensation and benefits roles. with at least 3 years in a leadership role. Hospital or related healthcare experience preferred.
