Essential Responsibilities
Store Operations & Management:
- Oversee the bookstore's daily operations, ensuring an organized and efficient retail environment.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to enhance operational effectiveness.
- Maintain compliance with college policies and industry standards.
- Manage inventory, including textbooks, course materials, school supplies, apparel, and other merchandise.
- Work with faculty to ensure timely textbook adoption and availability.
- Coordinate with vendors and publishers to negotiate pricing and ensure on-time deliveries.
- Oversee returns, buybacks, and restocking to optimize inventory levels.
- Provide exceptional customer service to students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
- Train and supervise staff to maintain high customer service standards.
- Develop strategies to enhance sales, promotions, and bookstore visibility.
- Monitor sales performance, set revenue goals, and implement strategies to meet financial targets.
- Manage store budgets, track expenses, and oversee financial reporting.
- Handle cash management, pricing, and financial transactions efficiently.
- Hire, train, and supervise bookstore staff, including student workers.
- Schedule shifts and delegate responsibilities to ensure smooth operations.
- Foster a positive work environment and provide performance feedback.
- Collaborate with campus departments to support bookstore-related events and initiatives.
- Develop and execute marketing strategies to increase bookstore traffic and sales.
- Utilize social media and digital platforms to promote merchandise and special offers.
