DUTIES: The Sr. CEI Inspector will be responsible for reviewing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, reviewing, and verifying engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests and is responsible for coordinating and managing the lower level inspectors. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Project Administrator.
All qualified candidates must have experience working on FDOT projects and hold the minimum CTQP Certifications listed below.
REQUIREMENTS: High school graduate or equivalent plus four (4) or more years of experience in construction inspection, two (2) years of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection with the exception of Complex Category 2 (CC2) bridge structures or a Civil Engineering degree and one (1) year of road & bridge CEI experience with the ability to earn additional required qualifications within one year.
(1) Possess the ability to write and speak to report on progress and outcome of technical assignments and to present recommendations.
(2) Possess the ability to monitor construction projects to a successful and timely completion.
(3) Have general knowledge of safety and occupational health principles, practices, procedures, laws and regulations as they relate to engineering performance requirements.
