Position Summary
Office clerks are to perform a variety of responsible, confidential, and administrative duties. This position handles customer inquiries both in person and on the phone, and provides information and assistance to staff according to established procedure. This position is also responsible for photocopying, filing, mailing, and other clerical duties to support the other staff members in a busy office environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Answer phone calls in a polite and helpful manner
- Responsible for making sure all bills and vendors are paid on time
- Make sure books are accurate and up to date
- Keep office space clean and organized
- Make deposits
- Balance tills
- Sort, count, and wrap currency and coins.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Ability to speak English and Spanish
- Authorized to work in the United States
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be familiar is Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and Excel.
- Must be familiar with QuickBooks
- Ability to multitask
- Must know how to handle cash
- Must have good organizational skills
- Must have proper phone etiquette
- Must have a pleasant personality
Physical Demands and Work Environment
- Long periods sitting in front of computer
- Exposed to chemicals while cleaning
- Able to use a cash register
- Able to handle stressful situations
