Have you considered apartment maintenance? Apartment maintenance is a stable industry and a career that can go anywhere you do. You may currently reside in the area, but in 5 years you may be looking to live elsewhere and would need a job. Chances are there would be available apartment maintenance employment in the area.
You must be able to pass a background check and drug screen. Need to have a current valid driver's license with a dependable vehicle and current auto insurance. Have the ability to be on call for emergency after hour maintenance calls that can not wait until the following work day. Superior customer service, work positively with a team, partake in a pre- employment maintenance test and acknowledge the maintenance requirements per company policy. Pass background and drug testing.
Full time position working in an essential business
Basic Responsibility:
Perform maintenance and other duties as needed and directed.
Specific Responsibilities:
Perform work orders, scheduled, preventive and routine maintenance requests on a timely basis.
Handle project winterization and summarization programs.
Work in close conjunction with the manager to assure that vacancies are refurbished on a timely and priority basis to reduce turn-around time.
Perform other maintenance tasks assigned by the manager.
Assist with maintenance of other properties or perform specific duties on an assigned basis as needed for Key Management.
Be available on an "On Call" basis when scheduled or necessary in case of emergency;
Police grounds daily (pick up debris).
Qualifications and Physical Requirements: Previous experience in at least two of the following: Heating/A/C repair, plumbing, appliance repair, and carpentry. Ability to pass written maintenance test. Must have dependable vehicle. Ability to lift 100 lbs. necessary for installation and removal of appliances. Ability to operate all necessary hand tools to make repairs. Ability to kneel, crouch, climb, crawl, etc. to reach items in need of repair. Ability to drive to and from job sites. Ability to work in all temperatures, inside and outside during all seasons, 8 hours daily.
