SUMMARY
We are looking for a full-time Janitor/Groundskeeper for four smaller apartment communities in Vancouver, WA.
Assumes responsibility for general cleanliness for the building.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned from time to time.
· Adheres to and conveys philosophy of supporting dignity, privacy, independence, choice, individuality, and a homelike environment for the residents.
· Familiarizes self with cleaning schedules for common areas to assure completion of housekeeping task.
· Perform housekeeping, janitorial and minor repairs, as assigned.
· Provides laundry services as needed.
· Observe problems, concerns, issues observed with resident apartments, the building and the grounds and communicates them appropriately.
· Observes changes in resident status, needs, or preference, and communicates them appropriately.
· Observes all work safety, and administrative rules.
· Adheres to all established policies and procedures.
· Records resident information as required.
· Avoids loss, breakage, and waste of supplies and equipment.
· Demonstrates knowledge of and adheres to procedures for fire, life safety, disaster, security, work safety, and other emergency procedures.
· Performs other duties as assigned.

· Interacts in professional manner with residents, public, co-workers. Work cooperatively with management. Display willingness to assist co-workers when situation requires
· Ability to do occasional heavy lifting ( up to 50 pounds), 30 pounds regularly
· Adequate and clear English speaking and writing ability, able to communicate effectively.
· Able to spend long periods on feet and to ambulate quickly.
· Is free of non treated communicable diseases.
· Ability/willingness to follow all policies and procedures
· Neat, accurate, dependable and keeps work area clean

QUALIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of equipment, supplies, and chemicals used for housekeeping and laundry task.
ON and/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma preferred. Attendance at mandatory in- service training.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ø Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ø Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ø Ability to effectively communicate in English and understand and follow written and oral instructions.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ø Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
REASONING ABILITY
Ø Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ø Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
