Part-time, Non-Exempt, Hourly
Compensation: $30 per hour
Key School is seeking a part-time Nurse Substitute for the Health Office to work on an as-needed basis. Under the supervision of the First School Division Head and with the support of the First Schools Administrative Assistants, the Nurse Substitute will provide direct and indirect school nursing services to students, campers, faculty, staff and administration during school hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m
Essential Duties:
- Maintains accurate records of daily health room treatment notes, accidents and emergencies.
- Provides resource information to faculty for dealing with specific medical issues.
- Provide medical care for injuries and illness.
- Manage and dispense medications, including prescription and non-prescription, to students per doctors order.
- Communicate with parents, providers and the Health Department (as necessary).
- Manage medical emergencies, including accompanying students to the hospital and remaining until parents arrive; complying with physicians orders for student care.
- Serve as a resource on health issues.
Qualifications
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Fingerprinting/background check
- A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience preferred

Daily desk work includes significant amounts of telephone and computer time; frequent walking both inside campus buildings and outside navigating a large campus with uneven pavement, as well as utilizing a golf cart; navigation of stairs as a part of daily routines; and the ability to respond quickly and efficiently to injury/illness incidents.
