Managing Consultant - Multiemployer Defined Benefit Plans

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Pension Actuary to join our team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with defined benefit plans and a strong understanding of actuarial principles and practices. This role involves working closely with clients to provide actuarial consulting services, including plan design, funding strategies, and regulatory compliance.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Actuarial Valuations: Conduct detailed actuarial valuations and prepare comprehensive reports for multiemployer defined benefit plans.
  • Funding Strategies: Develop and implement innovative funding strategies to ensure the long-term financial health of pension plans.
  • Data Analysis: Analyze plan data and perform experience studies to assess plan performance and identify trends.
  • Consulting Services: Provide expert consulting services on plan design, benefit calculations, and withdrawal liability.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Assist clients with regulatory compliance, including PBGC filings and adherence to ERISA and other relevant legislation.
  • Client Collaboration: Collaborate with clients to develop and communicate effective pension strategies.
  • Industry Knowledge: Stay current with industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in pension actuarial science.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in pension actuarial consulting. Does not necessarily need to be multiemployer specific.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in actuarial software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
