Salary Range: $65,000 - $73,000 annually
Position Description:
The Director of Youth Services provides overall direction and leadership for Keystone’s two out-of-school programs, Teen Tech Center, Youth Employment Program and Express Bike Shop social enterprise. This position ensures effective operations, evaluates impact, supports staff and manages resources, ensuring that Keystone delivers high-quality youth development programming.
The Director of Youth Services ensures that Keystone programs help young people thrive. They implement a Positive Youth Development approach, improving equity and support for the diverse youth that Keystone serves.
As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Director of Youth Services partners with leadership to advance the organization’s strategic goals and sustainability. They work under the supervision of Director of Programs, exercising initiative and independent judgment in the performance of major job functions and duties.
Essential Functions:
45% Program Management
- Provide strategic leadership for Youth Services operations, including program delivery, planning, troubleshooting and logistics.
- Lead evaluation and quality improvement for Youth Services programs, ensuring implementation of best practices.
- Monitor progress toward program goals and implement changes as needed.
- Partner with staff to identify and implement recruiting strategies.
- Manage partnerships with key program delivery partners.
- Develop program budgets and monitor expenses.
- Collaborate with Advancement Department and Director of Programs to manage grant reports and proposals.
- Actively participate in Senior Management Team staff meetings and all-staff meetings.
35% Staff Direction and Development
- Regularly meet with staff in group and individual supervision.
- Coach and direct staff to improve their skills and performance.
- Assess gaps in professional development and implement training.
- Provide performance reviews for staff.
- Interview, hire, and onboard program staff as needed.
- Authorize time sheets and leave requests for staff.
- Communicate and apply agency policies and procedures.
15% Community Leadership
- Serve as primary contact for Youth Services partners and stakeholders.
- Seek and develop relationships with new community partners.
- Provide leadership in promoting Keystone’s mission, vision, values and programs.
- Promote and represent the agency with the with funders, partner organizations and community wide.
5% Other
- Performs other duties or projects as assigned, for the purpose of accomplishing specific agency objectives.
Qualification Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Youth Development, Education, Social Services or a related field.
- Five years of experience managing a youth development, education, or social services program.
- Strong supervisory skills, experience managing staff who work independently.
- Proven leader in a fast paces environment with strong judgement, critical thinking and problem solving skills.
- Passionate about youth development and able to contribute to Keystone's mission and communities we serve.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial and cultural backgrounds.
Qualification Preferences
- A Master's Degree in Youth Development, Education, Social Services or a related field.
- Experience with database management.
Physical/Mental Requirements
- Physical working conditions include frequent computer work and telephone calls as typical in an office setting. Occasional travel for meetings, events, and site visits is required. Flexibility in hours may be required to meet deadlines.
- Mental requirements include having excellent verbal and written communication abilities to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders and work in collaboration with other departments of the organization.
- Equipment/technology requirements include familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, Scanner, Copier, and fax machine.
