Position Description:
Keystone is excited to grow and build upon our Advancement team and has created multiple new positions to help serve our mission of strengthening the capacity of individuals and families to improve their quality of life!
The Grants Manager is responsible for managing the grants process in order to secure support for Keystone’s services and mission. This position will identify potential grant opportunities, write grant proposals, manage the grants calendar, maintain relationships with funders, and partner complete grant reports.
The Grants Manager will work closely with senior leadership and other team members to build a program to drive revenue through corporate and foundation giving.
Essential Functions:
90% - Grants Management
- Develop, write, and submit grant proposals, including budgets, narratives, and required documentation.
- Collaborate with other departments (finance, programs, etc.) to gather information for proposal preparation.
- Research and identify new grant opportunities from federal, state, local, and private foundations that align with Keystone’s goals.
- Maintain an up-to-date grants calendar of potential grants, awarded grants and grants in need of reports.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the organization and grant funders.
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with current and prospective funders to ensure continued and future funding support.
- Partner to monitor grant-funded projects to ensure compliance with grant terms, timelines, budgets and conditions.
- Prepare and submit timely reports to funding agencies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with grant agreements.
- Track grant milestones and outcomes, ensuring that the organization meets or exceeds deliverables as outlined in grant agreements.
- Work closely with project managers and other internal stakeholders to ensure that grant-funded projects are on track and aligned with organizational objectives.
- Provide guidance and support to other departments in the preparation of reports and data required for grant compliance.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in grant regulations and funding trends.
10 % Other Duties as Assigned
- Participate as an active member of the Keystone team
- Actively participate in the creation and execution of fundraising activities and events, including site tours, donor visits and events
- Consistently act as an internal and external ambassador for the Advancement
- Contribute to shared goals and collaborate with colleagues on achievement of priorities
- Complete other tasks as assigned
Qualification Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree in Social Services, Human Services, or a related field. Related work experience will be considered, in lieu of a Bachelor's degree.
- Five years of experience in grant writing, grant management, or related non-profit work.
- Proven track record of securing funding by writing successful grants, managing funder relationships, and grant reporting.
- Experience researching foundation and maintaining a grants calendar.
- Strong knowledge of grant processes, funding sources, and compliance regulations. (Federal, State, Foundations)
Qualification Preferences
- Proficiency with database to track and manage relationships.
- Financial Management and budget oversight for grants experience.
- Strong analytical and computer application skills.
Physical/Mental Requirements
Physical working conditions include frequent computer work, telephone calls, and moving around the office. In addition, this position may need to travel to community locations and may need to partake in some evening and weekend hours for meetings and/or events.
Mental requirements include ability to provide effective written and verbal communication skills to professionally interact with vendors, community partners, Keystone staff, and staff from other organizations.
