We are seeking an experienced Expanded Function Dental Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our dental care team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinic and providing exceptional patient care.
Job Summary:
This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for an organized and detail-oriented individual to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting dentists and hygienists with various procedures, maintaining accurate records, and contributing to the overall success of our practice.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in installing and removing rubber dams.
- Add and remove matrices.
- Insert and withdraw wedges.
- Apply cavity liners and bases.
- Place and compact amalgam restorations.
- Carve and shape amalgam restorations.
- Place and complete composite resin restorations, sealants, or both.
- Polish the coronal surface.
- Perform fluoride treatments, such as fluoride varnish.
- Taking dental impressions for study models, diagnostic casts, or athletic equipment.
- Ensure that the patient's chart is correctly documented after the surgery is performed.
- Prepare the anesthesia as prescribed by the dentist.
Education:
A high school graduate or GED equivalency is required. Two years' experience as an expanded function dental assistant is desired. The ideal candidate will be able to learn quickly, work well under pressure, and maintain a professional demeanor at all times.
License/Certification:
Certification in Dental Radiology in the state of Pennsylvania and maintains a current Pennsylvania Expanded Functions License is required. Current CPR certification is also necessary.
