Keystone Human Services has an exciting opportunity for a Compliance Specialist. This is a hybrid position, supporting operations in the Harrisburg, PA area. The Compliance Specialist position is responsible for assisting in the development, planning, and monitoring of all compliance-related functions. This is inclusive of, but not limited to completing compliance investigations, evaluating organizational risk, assisting in mitigation strategies, completing internal audits and building meaningful relationships to influence compliance standards amongst departments. Additional responsibilities for the Compliance Specialist include - • Make recommendations regarding development and revision of policies and procedures for the general operation of the Compliance Program and related activities to prevent illegal, unethical, or improper conduct. • Assist in the development and delivery of education to operations teams to support them in understanding and complying with regulatory requirements. • Conduct internal audits, identifying weakness and deficiencies to assist with process improvement and increase organizational compliance adherence. • Assist in developing and monitoring key performance indicators to assess operational risk. • Maintain a working knowledge of Federal and State regulations, industry standards or changes, and policies as they affect Keystone through routine review of resources, e.g. Federal Register, Multiple-state manuals, bulletins, notices, etc. • Assess corrective action plan adherence or continuous improvement plan adherence until operational areas meet appropriate standards. • Assist in investigations surrounding alleged violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures, and Standards of Conduct. • Assist in the remediation of any compliance hotline calls. • Act as communications channel to receive compliance issues, collaborating with other departments to direct concerns to appropriate existing channels for investigation and resolution • Assess trends in compliance reporting to assist with organization risk mitigation strategies. • Make recommendations regarding follow-up actions in response to violations of rules, regulations, policies, procedures and Standards of Conduct. • Assist in multifaceted educational and training program that focuses on the elements of a compliance program and seeks to ensure all appropriate employees and management are knowledgeable of and comply with pertinent federal and state standards. • Maintains collaborative working relationships with Operations, Human Resources, Finance, agency and corporate leadership and other constituencies • Acts as a champion for the Corporate Compliance and Integrity Department to support the continuing momentum towards practices that align with the agency mission and values as well as legal and ethical requirements Requirements: • Bachelor’s Degree required. • 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare in a healthcare, behavioral health or human services compliance/regulatory role preferred. • Working knowledge of Centers for Medicare/Medicaid Services, HIPAA, and other federal and state regulatory requirements. • Previous Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, operations, auditing, healthcare industry and fraud and abuse law experience preferred. • Additionally, candidates must be detail oriented, highly organized, and able to work in a professional capacity at all times with strong verbal and written communication skills. • Must have intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook). • Must have a valid Driver’s License and daily use of a privately owned vehicle.
