Job Title: Payroll Specialist
The Keystone Shipping Co. is seeking a Payroll and benefits specialist to report to our Assistant Controller. This person will manage payroll and payroll related tasks for multiple entities, as well as be the primary benefits administrator for those entities.
Candidates must meet the following qualifications:
· At least three (5) years of experience managing complex payroll configurations, specifically for unionized employees
· At least three (3) years of experience in benefits administration
· Advanced to expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel
· Working knowledge of U.S. taxation/payroll regulatory laws
· Familiarity with ADP Worforce Now HRIS/Payroll modules strongly preferred
· Maritime industry experience preferred
· Ability to work from our corporate headquarters located in Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania four (4) days per week.
Job Responsibilities to include but not limited to:
· Process and pay semi-monthly payrolls for:
o Two companies
o Five to seven vessels
o Four unions
· Responsible for receiving and entering payroll deductions such as 401k, union dues, and FSA contributions.
o Responsible for collaborating with accounts payable to make frequent payments to all appropriate parties.
· Oversee all employee maintenance including supplemental benefits, vacation travel pays, union advances.
· Track new hire days and enroll them in appropriate medical and 401k plans when they become eligible (based on union contracts).
· Pay medical, dental, S&A, and life insurances monthly.
· Review and complete Verification of Employment and Unemployment questions as they are received.
· Process and pay various bonuses.
· Complete annual pension reports and as necessary as crew retire.
· Non-Discrimination Testing annually.
· Improve and expand current policies and procedures in place.
· Ad-hoc financial projects and requests as needed.
