Job Overview
The role of the Sawyer Hand Crew Member is to be a contributing member in forestry management and fire mitigation. Hand crew members follow instruction from the Crew Boss and the plan of operations or scope of work for each project. Plan of operations of forestry projects include, but not limited to felling trees, limbing, slash pile building, swamping, removal of hazardous fuels, and maintenance of equipment. The Hand Crew holds a key role in the success of the business and its reputation for future contracts.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Listen to the direction of the Crew Boss.
- Report directly to the Crew Boss.
- Follow the plan of operations & scope of work of each project.
- Maintain acreage/day to reach project deadlines.
- Perform regular day-to-day duties such as leave no trace.
- Follow company Policies and Procedures.
- Keep a positive attitude and motivate team members.
- Ensure proper safety measures are followed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or higher.
- Certified A or B Feller.
- Wilderness First Aid Certified.
- Knowledge of proper maintenance of equipment.
- Be physically capable of working in high altitudes, in all weather conditions, and in difficult terrain.
Benefits
