Overview: In this role, you will be responsible for compiling and analyzing accounting/financial information within the Fixed Assets (Plant Accounting) Department for various subsidiaries. As an Accountant, you will maintain complete and accurate subsidiary general ledgers, assists in the consolidation process, and provides reporting support to multiple teams. Key Responsibilities:

Overview: In this role, you will be responsible for compiling and analyzing accounting/financial information within the Fixed Assets (Plant Accounting) Department for various subsidiaries. As an Accountant, you will maintain complete and accurate subsidiary general ledgers, assists in the consolidation process, and provides reporting support to multiple teams. Key Responsibilities:
- Accountant will manage accounting for all fixed asset activities, including additions, retirements, depreciation, cost of removal, and salvage
- Prepare journal entries and analyze financial results and variances, ensuring accuracy of subsidiary general ledgers
- Prepare account reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
- Provide reporting support and analysis for consolidation and external reporting requirements
- Assist in preparing quarterly and annual subsidiary financial statements and state commission reports, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, state-specific regulations, internal controls, and company policies
- As an Accountant, you will support the Rates team with rate case requests and analyses
- Liaise with various departments, providing information on accounting and reporting matters
- Assist with special projects to optimize business applications, technologies, and systems
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- Professional office environment
- Experience in public accounting, corporate, or multi-subsidiary companies is a plus
- Familiarity with SAP, PowerPlan, Hyperion, Blackline, and SharePoint is beneficial
- Strong knowledge of fundamental accounting/analytical concepts and financial analysis
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, especially advanced Excel functionalities
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Excellent analytical, systemic, and problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on initiative, knowledge sharing, team building, and decision making
- Ability to follow departmental and company policies and procedures
- Ability to create a positive work environment through effective communication and collaboration
