Controller

Responsibilities

Kforce's client, a growing company in the Grand Rapids, MI area is looking to add a Controller to their Corporate Accounting team. The position is open due to an internal transfer/promotion. Responsibilities:

• Controller will report to the Director of Accounting, and will manager a large team involved in transactional accounting activities
• Develops and recommends policy and procedure to govern transactional processing, maintaining sub-systems, and overseeing the monthly close process within the department
• Develops annual budget and manages expenses accordingly
• Manages the staff and all duties performed with the department
• Develops, updates and ensures compliance with internal financial policies and procedures while promoting an environment of internal controls
• Maintains sub-ledger and related GL Accounts with accurate reconciliations and effective controls
• As a Controller, you will review and maintain employee time and attendance records
• Implement and maintain employee and team incentive programs
• Complete weekly, monthly, and year-end close procedures (including annual Audit support)
• Networks with related departments to ensure effective collaboration with the department
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration
• MBA preferred, but not required
• 5 years of progressively more responsible experience in Finance/Accounting within a manufacturing environment
• Strong Excel capabilities including Pivot Tables, Data Mining, Report Creation, etc.
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
