Embedded Software Engineer (Linux, Security)

Responsibilities

Kforce has a medical device client in Peabody, MA that is looking for an Embedded Software Engineer to work on a Linux distribution migration project. Preferred candidates will be able to be onsite in Massachusetts on a hybrid/as needed basis. Roles and Responsibilities for Embedded Software Engineer (Linux, Security):

• Lead migration of Linux distribution from Kirkstone to Scarthgap
• As an Embedded Software Engineer, you will build custom Linux distributions in Yocto/Bitbake
• Implement cyber security measures in embedded system to ensure confidentiality of patient information
• Collaborate with global teams on project updates and deliverables
  
  

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related discipline
• At least 5 years of experience in embedded software development in Linux environment
• 2 years of current experience in a medical device environment
• Current experience in Yocto/Bitbake environment
• Strong understanding of cyber security principles as it pertains to embedded software for medical device
• Experience in Gitlab or Jenkins environment
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
