Lab Support Engineer 2

Responsibilities

Kforce is seeking a full-time Lab Support Engineer 2 to support our enterprise technology client based out of Franklin, Massachusetts (MA). Responsibilities:

• Deploying and maintaining the infrastructure in a datacenter lab environment
• Deploying new equipment, troubleshooting basic problems, helping engineering partners configure their servers and many other tasks
• Working with the latest servers and switches and learning the newest technologies
• Work alongside other members of our team to provide excellent service to the engineers who are using the hardware in our datacenter so they can accomplish their goals as quickly as possible
• Provide general client/server and networking support for the configuration and maintenance of the engineering solutions for the lab computing environment
• Be responsible for ensuring proper deployment of servers, networking switches, storage arrays and software; troubleshoot issues that arise
• Assist in the maintenance and automation of the datacenter environment as needed and ensure that any issues are identified and resolved
• Maintain a working knowledge of all documented procedures
• Replace system hardware by following documented processes
  
  

Requirements

• 2 years of experience
• Enjoy working in a datacenter environment, both as an individual and team contributor
• Experience working with Dell PowerEdge Servers and Computers
• Ability to trouble shoot, take ownership of work and continually strive for excellence
• Strong written and verbal communication - we are constantly communicating with our engineering partners, documenting our efforts in our ticketing system, through email, and in person
  
  

Desirable Requirements

• Basic networking skills, including switch configuration and troubleshooting
• Experience with VMWare environment
  
  

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
