Kforce's client in New Haven, CT has an immediate need for a Network Engineer with 3-5 years of experience with Palo Alto/Firewalls/V-wire. This is a 6 month contract assignment with the potential for a long-term engagement and possibly contract to hire. This position will be 5 days a week on site in New Haven, CT - no exceptions. Position Summary: The Network Engineer will focus on applying policies to V-wire configurations in Palo Alto to improve traffic efficiency. This role involves policy review, troubleshooting, and implementing firewall rules based on security guidelines set by the Infosec team. The position requires hands-on experience with Palo Alto firewalls and network security policies. Responsibilities:

- Convert V-wire configurations to Layer 3 routing rules on Palo Alto firewalls
- Apply security policies as per Infosec guidelines and troubleshoot issues during the process
- Work with network engineers and stakeholders to clarify and implement requests
- Perform manual reviews and troubleshooting to ensure policies are effective and traffic flows smoothly
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 3 years of experience in network engineering with a focus on Palo Alto firewalls
- Strong knowledge of V-wire to Layer 3 conversion and firewall rule implementation
- Expertise in Palo Alto firewall configuration and network security
- Experience in troubleshooting network-related issues and policy management
