Responsibilities

Kforce's client, a 100-year-old Family Run Business located in Hunt's Point Bronx, NY, is looking for an Operations Supervisor. They are a Wholesale/Distributor of fresh Produce and Fruit and expanding. The hours for this role are 3am-1pm, Sun-Thurs. Essential Functions:

  • Operations Supervisor will be responsible for managing a team of Box/Store warehouse workers
  • Responsible for overseeing the flow of all product and employees throughout the warehouse
  • Responsible for managing and directing employees to ensure the most optimal and efficient location, rotation, and replenishment of inventory within the warehouse store
  • Promote, manage, and implement work processes to ensure quality control, inventory accuracy, and work efficiency within the store
  • Manage the appearance of work in the store and ensure an optimal customer experience
  • Set and manage quality standard of product and environment
  • Conduct daily hand off with relieving supervisor at the beginning and end of shift in order to ensure clear and consistent communication
  • Serve as a leader by strategically thinking about how to develop and accomplish goals
  • Supervise and coordinate efficient unloading, counting, inspecting, and storing of product
  • As an Operations Supervisor, you will oversee and manage accurate rotation of product
  • Collaborate and assist peers and other departments to complete overall strategies per shift
  • Ensure sales orders are properly picked, stacked, and staged to ensure the optimal customer experience
  • Make discretionary decisions in order to promote the highest level of service and profitability for the company, vendors, and customers
  • Facilitate customer needs and customer interactions
  • Perform clerical administrative tasks as necessary, for example notices, emails, reporting, etc.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent work experience
  • 3 years of experience in a leadership role
  • 3 years of experience in a warehouse/supply chain management role
  • Must have a good understand of general and food safety policies and procedures and be willing to abide by them; All safety policies can be trained
  • Must have strong knowledge of heavy powered equipment, such as pallet jacks or forklifts
  • Must have good working knowledge of computers and current operating software
  • Must be punctual and dependable and adhere to attendance policies
  • Must work well with others in a team-oriented environment with a positive attitude
  • Strong leadership skills with an emphasis on growing and developing others
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Outlook, Teams, Excel, Word, etc.
  • Proficient in Produce Pro (or any sales and inventory systems implemented by the company); This skill can be trained
  • Able to work independently
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Salary : $70,000 - $90,000
