RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in New Carlisle, IN that is seeking an Infrastructure Install Technician who will be installing servers, network equipment, structured cabling, and managing infrastructure inventory. The Infrastructure Install Technician will also handle physical installations of network and server racks/devices.
Responsibilities:
* Report to a site location and work in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the stability and growth of next-gen networks
* Help automate and scale our network, tackle networking issues, and deploy cutting-edge server technologies
* CCommunicate efficiently with internal and external partners using the entire Microsoft suite
* Work side by side with cable vendors to install, inspect and troubleshoot cabling Installation and maintenance of copper and fiber cable infrastructure
* Install, test and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels and patch cords
* Confirm to senior leaders that the site location and vendors entire installations comply with all best practices and compliance
* Document and relay installation status continuously to broader teams and leadership via a ticketing system, composing status reports, email and slack
* Execute customer requests from the ticketing system and projects; Maintain and organized system in which to prioritize many tickets at once
* Maintain accurate records and document problems and processes to successfully draft and execute changes within data centers
* Exhibit quality workmanship on all work and maintain site cleanliness in compliance with safety regulations
* Oversee, verify, and coordinate the daily delivery of all materials to the site
REQUIREMENTS:
* High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience
* Excellent communication skills
* Ability to multitask
* Microsoft outlook experience
* Project coordination or supervision experience
* Strong understanding of computers, servers, switches, and networking devices (hardware and software) is essential, along with a willingness to learn
* Some technical skills, strong communication abilities and problem-solving aptitude
* Able to work independently, using self-motivation and judgment, and interact effectively with cross functional teams
Preferred:
* 1 year of experience in cabling or optic experience
* Prior experience working in a data center in this type of role
* SM and MM fiber, computer hardware experience is a plus
Physical Requirements:
* Walk job sites in uneven terrain
* Work safely at heights and from ladders
* Ability to work on your feet conducting site walks and installation tasks for the entirety of an 8-hour shift
* Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds; and participate in group lifts for 41 pounds or more
* Ability to work in a critical facility environment that operates 24/7 with an ability to participate in after-hours support as needed
* Will need driver's license and reliable form of transportation
* Up to 50% travel within geographical work area may be required - within the state (across the highway)
* Be available on cell phone for communication, information, and emergencies
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
