Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Developer in Los Angeles, CA.

Overview:
The Senior Business Intelligence Developer will work within the Information Systems (IS) team to design, develop, test, and implement business intelligence solutions across various departments. This role serves as a subject matter expert for dashboards and is responsible for gathering and documenting technical specifications based on user needs and gap analysis. The position also plays a key role in ensuring data integrity, maintaining system security, and transforming raw data into actionable insights.

The Senior BI Developer should have a strong understanding of business processes and workflows, and be skilled in using a range of technologies including (but not limited to) QlikView, Qlik Sense, Cerner Command Language (CCL), Hadoop, and relational databases (RDBMS). The role requires cross-functional collaboration and the ability to support integrated systems and solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
* Provide training to staff, vendors, and department users on systems and tools
* Deliver responsive and professional customer service to internal teams, vendors, and peers
* Produce both routine and ad-hoc reports for business users
* Translate complex data into meaningful analysis that supports decision-making and predicts outcomes
* Prepare documentation for dashboards and reports (e.g., Functional Requirements Documents); Create mock-ups of visualizations before development

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, or a related field required
* In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, 10 years of relevant IT or business support experience will be considered
* At least 6 years of experience in BI/dashboard development, including design, documentation, implementation, upgrades, and troubleshooting
* Proficiency in SQL (MS SQL Server, Oracle)
* 2 years of experience with QlikView and Qlik Sense preferred
* Experience with other BI tools such as Tableau and Power BI
* Strong knowledge of database systems, system design, capacity planning, and hands-on experience with database services
* Familiarity with SDLC methodology to develop and deploy dashboards efficiently
* Ability to apply user experience (UX) design principles to dashboards and reports
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines; Must be comfortable working independently and collaboratively

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
