Overview
The Part-Time Medical Assistant works with a Podiatrist who provides services in the long-term care setting.
This position requires extensive travel in the designated Charleston, SC Territory and offers travel mileage reimbursement.
Job Summary
A leading provider of podiatry services to the long-term care industry is expanding rapidly. We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our administrative team in South Carolina to assist patients in feeling at ease with the podiatrist and provide high-level customer service to our facilities, patients, family members, etc.
Responsibilities
- Assists the physician during exams
- Prepares patients for examination
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history
- Confirms purpose of visit or treatment
- Completes records by recording patient examination and treatment
- Generates revenues by recording billing information of services rendered
- Provides superior customer service to our doctors, facilities, and their resident/family members

Education and Experience
- One (1) year healthcare experience preferred
- Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience preferred
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
- Medical Assistant Certification preferred
- Nursing and/or Podiatry Assistant Certification required
Computer Skills
Proficiency using software programs such as MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook
Environmental Factors/Physical Demands
Work is performed in an office environment. The employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer and employee communication; access, input, and retrieve information from the computer system; enter alpha-numeric data into a computerized system often while listening on the telephone.
