JOB TITLE: Mine Operations Dispatch Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Mine Operations
LOCATION: Robinson Mine - Ruth, NV
PAY GRADE: 5
POSITION REPORTS TO: Mine Operations Superintendent
EXEMPT NONEXEMPT
PURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
Mine Operations Dispatch Supervisor manages a crew of approximately 4 primary fleet dispatchers and 4 relief fleet dispatchers and all associated mining-related activities in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. Proactively coordinates activities and resources in conjunction with other departments to comply with priorities and overall objectives of the mine plan.
JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Follow safe work procedures and best practices.
- Supervise, support, assist, train and develop dispatchers.
- Be responsible for achieving mine plan in coordination with the Mine Operations supervisors.
- Assists in managing and supervising a Mine Operations crew.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Participate in job planning.
- Handle disciplinary action within the operations department.
- Is responsible for the quality and quantity of work performed by subordinates.
- Participate in meetings and discussions.
- Be a role model to others in safe behavior.
- Be willing and enthusiastic.
- Willingness to perform other duties as necessary to ensure the success of KGHM.
REQUIRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
- A minimum of 3 to 5 years mine operations, preferably in an open pit mine environment or large earthmoving excavation environment. With previous fleet dispatching experience I.E. Mine Star, Modular or Jigsaw.
- 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
- A valid Driver’s License.
PREFERRED EDUCATION, WORK EXPERIENCE & TRAINING:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- A BS degree in Mine Engineering or other related technical field preferred. Equivalent years of related experience can be substituted for the Engineering degree requirement.
SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Focus on Safety.
- Strong personnel development skills.
- Strong oral and written communications skills.
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Proven supervisory skills in a union free work environment.
- Working knowledge of mobile equipment including operating and maintaining such equipment.
COMPUTER KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
- Basic working knowledge of JDE or equivalent software.
- Proficiency in the use of Minstar software.
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to learn new software.
