We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Coordinator to join our manufacturing team. This role is responsible for coordinating procurement activities to ensure the timely and cost-effective acquisition of raw materials, components, and supplies necessary for production. The Purchasing Coordinator will work closely with suppliers and internal departments to maintain optimal stock levels while minimizing costs and ensuring compliance with company standards.
The ideal candidate will have experience in supply chain management, vendor negotiation, and purchasing best practices within a manufacturing environment. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills, the ability to analyze purchasing trends, keen attention to detail and a proactive approach to solving procurement challenges.
Key Responsibilities:
· Source and procure raw materials, equipment, and supplies timely and in line with production needs and company policies.
· Maintain and manage vendor relationships, negotiate pricing, and ensure vendor compliance with quality and delivery standards.
· Process purchase orders timely and accurately within our ERP software, track shipments, and resolve any delivery discrepancies or delays. Communicate vendor delivery information to the requestor.
· Review and reconcile purchase orders and invoices with the finance department.
· Collaborate with production to anticipate material requirements and avoid shortages.
· Analyze procurement data, monitor trends, and identify cost-savings opportunities.
· Maintain accurate records of purchases, supplier contracts, and inventory levels.
· Assist in evaluating and selecting new suppliers to optimize quality, cost, and efficiency.
· Stay up to date with industry trends, market conditions, and best practices in procurement.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills:
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
· 2 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing or industrial environment required.
· Proficiency in ERP systems required.
· Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities required.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment required.
· Knowledge of inventory control, cost analysis, and supply chain best practices required.
· Ability to function well within a team and yet be self-motivated required.
· Ability to comprehend and interpret technical specifications related to procurement items.
