TL;DRKharon is seeking a full-time, US-based Staff Engineer, preferably located near our hub in Denver, CO.

Responsibilities:

  • Architect, design and develop software tools and best practices, ensuring they align with Kharon’s vision
  • Forge strong partnerships with developers and data engineers to help coordinate the analysis and delivery of insights based on Kharon’s dataset
  • Craft and oversee the improvement of our use of LLM tools
  • Mentor developers on best practices within several software engineering disciplines including data engineering and LLM development
  • Identify areas for improvement to our processes and our tools

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is favored
  • 15 years in software development and software architecture
  • 4 years as a technical leader
  • Command over several major programming languages, such as Java, Python, or Javascript
  • Experience with LLM tools like Langchain and Vector DB’s
  • Experience with data pipeline tools such as Airflow, Spark, Databricks, etc
  • Experience with data warehousing tools like Clickhouse, Snowflake, Athena, etc

Reporting to Kharon’s Engineering Director, the Staff Engineer will play a critical role in ensuring our technology scales efficiently and effectively. With a deep understanding of software development, software architecture, LLM tools, and engineering best practices, this individual will design, enhance, and maintain our core software architecture while driving innovation across the organization. Working closely with the Engineering team, the Staff Engineer will elevate development efficiency, shape technology strategy, and implement best practices to optimize our use of LLM-powered tools. Beyond technical leadership, they will mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a high-performance engineering culture. While this role is primarily individual contributor-focused, there is potential for future management opportunities, including overseeing a team of senior engineers as we continue to scale.

The base salary range at Kharon is set between $200k-$250k base annual. Please note that this figure does not necessarily include potential bonuses, commissions, benefits, or equity that may be part of the overall compensation package.
