PRIMARY FUNCTIONMonitors individual and/or groups of students in the computer lab for the purpose of identifying required assistance and ensuring a safe and positive learning environment Develop or modify curriculum and prepare lessons and other instructional materials according to students ability levelsProvide special education students with appropriate learning activities and experiences based on goals and objectives identified in the student's IEPDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESUse strategies and activities to increase student performance in content area and on standardized testingPresent subject matter in accordance with the guidelines established by TEA, board policies, and administrative regulationsInstructs students and teachers on the use of educational software for the purpose of complementing classroom instruction with computer technology.Maintains lab equipment, supplies, work aids, etc. for the purpose of ensuring availability of items as may be requiredUse appropriate instructional strategies, best practices, activities, materials, and equipment for assigned students as well as improve study methods and habitsProcesses documents and materials for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.Prepares reports, documents and other written materials for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying informationWork cooperatively with teachers to modify curriculum as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in IEPsAssess student achievement through formal and informal testingDemonstrate professional, responsible, and ethical behavior Participate in district and campus staff development and faculty meetings.
