PRIMARY FUNCTION
Monitors individual and/or groups of students in the computer lab for the purpose of identifying required assistance and ensuring a safe and positive learning environment
Develop or modify curriculum and prepare lessons and other instructional materials according to students’ ability levels
Provide special education students with appropriate learning activities and experiences based on goals and objectives identified in the student's IEP
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Use strategies and activities to increase student performance in content area and on standardized testing
Present subject matter in accordance with the guidelines established by TEA, board policies, and administrative regulations
Instructs students and teachers on the use of educational software for the purpose of complementing classroom instruction with computer technology.
Maintains lab equipment, supplies, work aids, etc. for the purpose of ensuring availability of items as may be required
Use appropriate instructional strategies, best practices, activities, materials, and equipment for assigned students as well as improve study methods and habits
Processes documents and materials for the purpose of disseminating information to appropriate parties.
Prepares reports, documents and other written materials for the purpose of documenting activities, providing written reference and/or conveying information
Work cooperatively with teachers to modify curriculum as needed for special education students according to guidelines established in IEPs
Assess student achievement through formal and informal testing
Demonstrate professional, responsible, and ethical behavior
Participate in district and campus staff development and faculty meetings. Demonstrate interest in and initiative toward continued professional development
Manages student behavior during whole group presentations, small group instruction, individual work, by moving around the room, during cooperative group work, and monitor completion of assignments.
Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, facility members, and community member
Manage student behaviors in accordance with board policies, IEPs, BIPs, administrative regulations, facility behavioral programs, and the student code of conduct
Remain informed of and comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for teachers
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned
Salary : $52,000 - $70,000
