Job Summary
This factory position works as part of the sewing team in the development of seating and positioning products. In addition to meeting daily demand requirements, this position is responsible for assisting the Team Lead in Custom Sewing in organizing and planning, as well as, ensuring schedules and objectives are met. Following company safety requirements and quality system standards is required. Flexibility of daily job demand tasks and keeping the work area clean and orderly is required.
Essential Functions
Job Responsibilities
- Measure and hand cut fabric orders to maximize yields and minimize waste.
- Identify fabric flaws and detect color differences.
- Maintain accurate, legible, and detailed written records of all jobs.
- Work quickly and efficiently under pressure in order to meet production timeframes.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Inform team lead of fabric roll quantities for re-ordering purposes.
- Must be quality conscious and take responsibility for own quality of product.
- Performs all duties in a manner that follows, demonstrates, and promotes Ki Mobility’s company values.
- Report to work as scheduled, on time, and able to work entire work schedule.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability
- Knowledge of sewing construction and techniques a plus.
- Must be able to use a tape measure and other measuring devices.
- Basic math skills required.
- Ability to match or detect differences between colors and identify fabric flaws.
- Ability to multi-task.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment and independently.
- Possess effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability and skill to be dependable and self-motivated.

Physical Demands
- Must be able to lift and handle fabric rolls.
- Continuous wrist manipulation, walking, and standing.
- Frequent bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and twisting.
- Frequent lifting up to 20 pounds.
- Occasional lifting up to 60 pounds.
- Manual dexterity to position fabric rolls and product and to use basic tools for assembly and measuring.
- Must be able to complete all physical requirements to perform essential functions.
Qualifications
Education
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year experience working in a sewing/manufacturing environment.
- Prior experience in hand cutting of fabric is preferred.
- Experience working with hand and measuring tools.
- Experience and proven ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
Working Environment
- Standard working conditions include a temperature-controlled manufacturing environment.
