What are the responsibilities and job description for the Summer Supply Chain Intern - Manitowoc position at KI?
KI is seeking a motivated Supply Chain student to join our Materials Management team as a Summer Supply Chain Intern based out of our Manitowoc Manufacturing facility. Qualified students will be available to work 40 hour work weeks throughout the summer months, starting early June.
As a Supply Chain Intern, you will gain knowledge and understanding of the business through hands on activities, completing daily tasks, attending daily meetings, working directly with suppliers, coaching, and supporting our Scheduling Team.

- Develop further knowledge in Supply Chain fundamentals.
- Introduction to and use of an MRP/ERP system to perform activities efficiently.
- Interact with the facility Supply Chain, Plant Operations, Transportation, Finance, and Engineering/Design Teams as required.
- Gather and analyze data from our MRP/ERP system to make procurement decisions.
- Issue purchase orders, track acknowledgements, track deliveries, expedite/de-expedite as required.
- Participate in supplier and internal meetings.
- Maintain purchasing related data in our ERP system.
- Analyze overall Supply Chain processes and suggest improvements.
- Plant visits could be included as part of the learning experience.
- Must be actively enrolled in a Supply Chain program at a credited College, University or Technical College.
- Have the desire and ability to work well both independently and cross functionally.
- Are willing to engage others through strong communication and leadership skills.
- Are an inquisitive individual that has a desire to gain knowledge through experience.
- Ability to perform all duties required in both office and manufacturing environments wearing proper PPE.
