Summary

The Sr. Product Owner’s primary responsibility is to improve product awareness, adoption, and loyal customer base for connected car products, and improve the monetization. By acquiring a deep understanding of the connected car features, develop KPIs, key metrics, and strategies to improve the product development and customer support processes. Develop product concepts by working closely with the product managers and translate the concept into business requirements.

Major Responsibilities

1st Priority - 25%

  • Assess the existing KPIs and metrics for the current portfolio of products and services. Develop new KPIs and metrics for connected products and features that are critical for the business. Collaborate with the engineering team and develop systems to enable the business to track and improve performance.
  • Be the custodian and increase the awareness of the KPIs and metrics within the connected car team and develop strategies to improve customer engagement and monetization.

2nd Priority - 20%

  • Develop detailed Revenue and Expense, Profit and Loss models for the connected car business using MS Excel. Track and forecast revenue and expenses and proactively develop strategies to meet the business objectives.
  • Understand the cost and revenue levers for the new products and features and simulate business models using MS Excel. Present the business impact for different scenarios and provide recommendations for the best path forward.
  • 3rd Priority - 20%

  • Collaborate with the product management team and develop new products / features, including concept development, business process documentation, coordination with internal teams, and preparing proposals for presentation to the management.
  • Write business requirements for new products / features and for the new improvements triggered through the feedback from customers via call center or through other channels like business social media and web forums.
  • 4th Priority - 20%

  • Proactively identify areas for market and customer research and coordinate with the research team to gather data and insight about target personas, user experience, product needs, customer pain points, loyalty, and the purchasing decision process for the product.
  • Conduct customer and dealer personnel interviews (win / loss, product improvements).
  • 5th Priority - 15%

  • Manage connected car operations, including updating monthly product costing in SAP, managing the promotions for products and features, verifying monthly payouts to different businesses, and generating monthly reports for management review.
  • Education / Certification

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
  • Overall Experience

  • 5 years’ experience in product management, marketing and business analysis.
  • Experience in IOT products highly preferred.
  • Directly Related Experience

  • Technical product category experience preferable
  • Experience in presenting to Executives, IT Management and Developers
  • Experience in tracking metrics associated with system usage and user behavior and deriving actionable improvements.
  • Experience in building detailed business models in MS Excel.
  • Administrative duties with a focus on attention to detail and organization skills.
  • Position Requirements :

  • Occasional travel may be required domestically and / or internationally
  • May need to work additional hours outside of normal business hours as required by the job, including weekends or holidays
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Skills

    Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

    Excellent written and oral communication skills required.

    Ability to maintain the utmost confidentiality on all matters.

    Ability to multi-task, manage through competing demands, prioritize and work with other team members and at all levels within the company.

    Knowledge of automotive product planning, dealership sales and service processes is a plus.

    Pay Range

    87,317 - $121,409

    Pay will be based on several variables that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, relevant education or training, etc.
