Job Overview:

We are seeking a friendly and professional Golf Course Marshal to join our team at Kiahuna Golf Club. The Golf Course Marshal plays a key role in maintaining the pace of play, ensuring the safety and enjoyment of all golfers, and enforcing course rules. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong customer service orientation, and the ability to handle situations with discretion and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor Pace of Play: Ensure that groups stay on pace to provide a smooth flow of play and minimize delays.
  • Assist Golfers: Provide assistance to players when needed, answer questions, and offer directions around the course.
  • Enforce Course Rules: Ensure golfers are adhering to course policies, etiquette, and safety standards, including dress code, behavior, and equipment regulations.
  • Resolve Issues: Handle any disputes, complaints, or concerns from players in a calm and professional manner, involving management when necessary.
  • Safety Awareness: Promote and enforce safety measures for both players and staff, especially during inclement weather or potentially hazardous situations.
  • Assist with Event Coordination: Support the smooth operation of tournaments, outings, or events held on the course.
  • Patrol the Course: Regularly walk or drive the course in a cart to monitor conditions, ensure proper behavior, and maintain a visible presence for both golfers and staff.
  • Reporting: Document any incidents, accidents, or issues that require follow-up or attention.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; golf course or recreational experience preferred.
  • Previous customer service or marshal experience is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle sensitive situations professionally.
  • Knowledge of golf etiquette and rules is preferred.
  • Ability to walk or stand for extended periods and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Valid driver’s license (for cart operation).
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
  • Comfortable with occasional lifting and handling of light equipment.
  • Ability to work in varying weather conditions, including heat, rain, and wind.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: From $14.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 – 40 per week
