What are the responsibilities and job description for the Carpenter position at Kibo Capital?
The Carpenter will use woodworking skills to build and repair various structures and equipment within the multifamily portfolio.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Repairs and replaces damaged fixtures including decks, trim, framing, handrails, siding, and other framework.
- Installs doors, windows, cabinets, and other structures.
- Operates all necessary tools to complete a job.
- Prepares and dismantles scaffolding as needed.
- Ensures tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety.
- Estimates equipment, tool, and material requirements.
- Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.
- Collaborates with maintenance and community managers to complete projects on time and within budget.
- May perform painting as needed.
- Performs other maintenance duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Minimum of three (3) years of relative carpentry experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and craftsmanship.
- Proficient in using hand and power tools.
- Possesses a general knowledge of various trades, including carpentry, tiling, painting, and drywalling, as well as light plumbing and electrical work.
- Understands carpentry techniques and methods of installation and construction.
- Ability to take accurate measurements and calculations.
- Strong knowledge of building codes and safety regulations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Interacts positively with a diverse range of tenants, coworkers, management, and office staff.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Must maintain a valid driver’s license to operate a company vehicle.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to squat, lift, stretch, and bend in order to reach all areas of the facility.
- Must be able to work in and on overhead structures, as well as below machinery.
- May be exposed to extreme conditions (hot or cold).
- Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
