Responsibilities:
- Classroom Leadership: Lead a Georgia Pre-K classroom, ensuring a safe, engaging, and supportive learning environment for children aged 4 to 5 years old.
- Curriculum Development: Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans based on Georgia Early Learning and Development Standards (GELDS) to promote cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
- Instructional Delivery: Employ a variety of teaching methods, materials, and resources to facilitate active learning and promote individualized student growth and success.
- Assessment and Progress Tracking: Conduct ongoing assessments of students' skills, abilities, and progress, and maintain accurate records to inform instruction and communicate with parents/guardians.
- Classroom Management: Establish and maintain clear expectations for behavior, foster positive relationships, and promote a culture of respect, kindness, and inclusivity among students.
- Collaboration: Collaborate with other Pre-K teachers, educational professionals, and support staff to coordinate instruction, plan activities, and participate in professional development opportunities.
- Parent Communication: Regularly communicate with parents/guardians regarding their child's development, progress, and individual needs, and provide guidance and resources for continued support at home.
- Professional Growth: Stay current with best practices in early childhood education, attend relevant workshops or training sessions, and actively engage in professional development activities.
- Bachelor's Degree: Possess a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field. A Georgia Teaching Certificate or its equivalent is required.
- Georgia Pre-K Certification: Hold or be eligible for Georgia Pre-K Lead Teacher Certification, demonstrating knowledge of Georgia's Pre-K curriculum and standards.
- Teaching Experience: Have a minimum of two years of teaching experience, preferably in a Pre-K or early childhood setting.
- Passion for Early Childhood Education: Demonstrate a genuine love for working with young children, understanding their developmental needs, and fostering their overall growth.
- Classroom Management Skills: Exhibit strong classroom management and behavior guidance skills to create a positive and structured learning environment.
- Communication and Collaboration: Possess excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- Organization and Adaptability: Display strong organizational skills, flexibility, and the ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
