Child Care Assistant Teacher

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Child Care Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing and stimulating environment for children, fostering their development through engaging activities and educational experiences. This role is essential in shaping young minds and supporting their growth in various areas, including social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Duties

• Develop and implement age-appropriate lesson plans that align with educational standards.
• Provide a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment for all children.
• Educate children in foundational skills such as literacy, numeracy, and social interaction.
• Manage classroom behavior effectively to promote a positive learning atmosphere.
• Collaborate with parents and guardians to discuss children's progress and address any concerns.
• Support children with special needs by adapting lessons and providing individualized attention.
• Organize activities that promote physical, emotional, and intellectual growth.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the classroom to ensure a conducive learning environment.

Skills

• Strong background in childcare practices and early childhood education.
• Proficient in lesson planning and curriculum development tailored for preschool or toddler age groups.
• Knowledge of special education techniques to support diverse learning needs.
• Effective behavior management strategies to maintain order and encourage positive interactions.
• Experience in private school settings or Montessori methods is a plus.
• Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and colleagues effectively.
• Passion for literacy education and fostering a love for learning among young children.

Has to be team focused but able to make independent choices when needed. Also must be willing to help with end of day cleaning and prep for the next day.

This position does require you to be able to lift over 50 lbs and be ok with changing diapers and other messes children may make.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.50 - $17.25 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 25 per week

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
• No weekends
