This position reports to the Franchisee and is responsible for consistently delivering an exceptional parent/child experience in order to drive education, operations, and marketing . This position assumes the responsibility of assisting oversight of all operations and education functions of the Academy.

Job Responsibilities:

As the Assistant Director, you will be responsible for supporting the overall operations of the academy, including:

  • Assisting the Director with the day-to-day management of the academy.
  • Ensuring compliance with state regulations and Kiddie Academy policies.
  • Working closely with families to ensure a positive educational experience for all children.
  • Lesson Planning and Managing Kiddie Academy Curriculum- including planning and leafing summer camp, developmental checklists, and leading classroom observations
  • Manage center’s social media accounts
  • Ensures compliance with all federal and state laws, as well as all Kiddie Academy® standard operating procedures
  • Accepts temporary work assignments in the event regularly scheduled personnel are not available.
  • Develops and maintains positive, professional working relationship with academy staff.
  • Assists in daily supervision of staff; keeps director apprised of staff concerns and situations needing attention; provides performance appraisal input to director.
  • Assists with enrollment inquiries, follow-up and academy tours in order to increase enrollment.
  • Develops a strong working knowledge of Kiddie Academy® Philosophy, Mission, Core Values, and programs in order to communicate same to current clients, prospective customers or other community entities.
  • Develops and actively maintains positive communication with parents.
  • Assists in recognizing parental concerns, evaluation of the course of action and responding professionally to parents’ needs.

Federal, State, Local and Kiddie Academy requirements and laws.

  • Supports and leads new Kiddie Academy initiatives. Facilitates the learning and adaptation of all new programs and business imperatives, while upholding the values and integrity of Kiddie Academy.
  • Ensures that the Kiddie Academy proprietary Life Essentials® curriculum is presented as intended; ensuring that teachers can speak to the curriculum and what children are learning.
  • Plans Academy activities and actively participates in team meetings, training sessions, open houses, family/community activities, and planning sessions.
  • Performs regular observations of classrooms to provide feedback and direction that ensures the Kiddie Academy curriculum is being utilized as expected and learning is accomplished.
  • Ensures that quality control programs are sound and meet all State and Kiddie Academy requirements.
  • All other duties as assigned.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

  • Candidate must have Associate of Arts Degree or equivalent in Early Childhood Education
  • A minimum of two years’ experience as a center director or assistant director
  • Knowledge and experience working with early childhood National and State accrediting agencies
  • Knowledge of the early childhood field and developmentally appropriate practices; thorough understanding of child development in early childhood education setting
  • Previous experience in and/or knowledge of training, coaching or mentoring mechanisms
  • The ability to work independently and as a team member
  • Exemplary commitment to customer service
  • Must be an effective outward communicator and listener

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
