JOB SUMMARY
Provides a stimulating, safe and developmentally appropriate educational environment where children have the opportunity to develop cognitive, social, emotional and physical skills. Responsible for the daily planning, management and supervision of the classroom and children. Generally, may lead and functionally supervise an Assistant Teacher or aide. Responsible for ensuring that all parents, children and classroom staff concerns are appropriately addressed.
EXPECTATIONS
•Ensures that the physical, social and emotional needs ofthe children are met daily.•Ensures all policies and procedures to keep the childrenhealthy and safe are being implemented.•Creates activities and opportunities that encouragecuriosity, exploration and problem solving appropriateto the developmental levels and learning styles ofchildren through well defined learning areas.•Assists and supervises children during all activities.•Ensures that appearance, cleanliness and safeenvironment of classroom are appropriatelymaintained, in accordance with the NAEYC cleaning andsanitizing guidelines.•Ensures that all licensing regulations are being followedas required by the state.•Ensure all students who are soiled or need to be diaperchanged are changed following the proper diaperchanging process as outlined in orietnation.
•Attends and participates in staff meetings, Academyevents and parent meetings, as requested.
•Prepares and implements classroom lesson plans,programs and schedules.
•Develops, plans and prepares instructional aids and/ormaterials for classroom activities.
•Assists children with meal times and cleanup.
•Ensures that all classroom and outdoor equipment arein good working condition and are used and maintainedproperly.
•Directs activities of other staff in the classroom toensure that the classroom functions in an orderlymanner.
•Interacts with parents and maintains opencommunication to encourage family engagement.
•Maintains the Family Information Board and other classroom bulletin boards.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Arrive to work on time. Staff must be ready to begin
their shift right at the start. Personal needs should
be addressed and completed prior to your shift
beginning. Ex: going to the bathroom, phone calls,
obtaining classroom supplies etc.
• Ensure daily reports are updated and accurate in
tadpoles system.
• Lesson plans inputed in the Tadpoles system prior to
Monday morning.
• Classroom curriculum supply requests are submitted
at least 2 weeks in advance.
• Biannual assessments and observations completed
prior to parent teacher conferences.
• Attend and lead biannual parent teacher
conferences.
• Maintain classroom ratios at all times. Never leave
classroom without obtaining permission from
member of management team.
• Facilitate a positive learning environment for
students, families and staff.
• Ensure completion of daily health checklists for all
students on a daily basis.
• Ensure all biting reports/accident reports are
completed and signed by management and parents.
• Cooperate and get along with coworkers. Ensure a
positive work environment by working
collaboratively with one another. Problem solve
classroom disagreements together outside of
classroom instruction time. and away from
students.

Qualifications
- Previous experience as a daycare teacher or childcare provider
- 2 year degree or CDA Equivalent
- Strong understanding of child development
- Patient, kind, and nurturing
- Excellent organizational, communication, and time management skills
- First aid/CPR certified
Salary : $20 - $25
