Job Description
Kiddie Kollege Preschool is looking for full-time qualified teaching assistants. A preschool teacher or assistant must have a great love and patience for young children. Preschool is all about school readiness and ensuring that children are prepared to be successful as they enter into the next level of their education. As a teaching assistant you would be expected to follow the teacher's lead in using best practices and preschool educational methods to engage students in learning and to contribute to the healthly mental and emotional development of the children.
Requirements:
- must be at least 18 years of age
- must have a high school diploma or GED
- must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- a minimum of 2 years experience working in a preschool or child care setting preferred
- must be able to pass Child Care Licensing background check and FBI fingerprint check
- must be CPR and First Aide certified or be willing to obtain certification
- must be able to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with children, parents, and staff
- must be able to assist teacher in planning and implementing activities for children ages three to five years
- must be available to work Monday-Friday with hours and work schedule being determined by program needs
- must have a natural love for children and the patience to handle them
Duties and Responsiblities:
- maintaining a safe and organized learning environment for children in their care
- exhibit a nurturing and caring attitude to all children
- ensure that classroom decor is attractive so that students enjoy their surroundings
- maintain a positive, calm attitude when working with children, parents, and staff
- assist the lead teacher in planning and implementing daily lesson plans and activities that are age appropriate
- record any important observation regarding child's development and communicate such information to teacher
- oversee children to make sure they are safe both in the classroom and during outdoor activities
- assist children with restroom needs and other physical needs that might arise
- assume the teacher's role in their absence
- assist with lunch, recess, and other duties as assigned or needed
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $12.10 - $13.10 per hour
