Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and skilled Medical Biller to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the billing process, ensuring accuracy in medical coding, and facilitating the collection of payments. This role is crucial in maintaining the financial health of our medical practice while ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations.
Duties
- Process and submit medical billing claims to insurance companies and patients.
- Review patient records to ensure accurate coding using ICD-10, ICD-9, and DRG systems.
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve any discrepancies in billing.
- Maintain accurate medical records and documentation for all billing activities.
- Communicate with patients regarding their accounts, including payment plans and outstanding balances.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure proper documentation for coding purposes.
- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding practices.
Requirements
- Proven experience in medical billing or a related field is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (ICD-10, ICD-9), and DRG.
- Familiarity with medical collection processes and systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is a plus.
