Lead Medical Assistant
Kidney Specialists of Southern Nevada (KSOSN) provides comprehensive kidney care and a full spectrum of kidney disease management resources for residents of Southern Nevada. Our care team educates and empowers patients who are living with kidney pain, infections, stones, and other kidney problems. With this exciting opportunity you will be joining a seasoned team of 50 Physicians, Nurse Practitioners, and Physicians Assistants, as well as 80 team members across eight locations.
We are looking for 4 dynamic Lead Medical Assistants to join our growing team.
This position will work a 9/4 schedule. Work schedule will be Monday to Thursday, 7:30 am to 5pm OR 8am to 5:30pm and Friday 8am to 12 noon.
Position Summary
The Lead Medical Assistant required to perform all duties of the Medical Assistant and functions as the resource person to the non-licensed staff. The lead also acts as a liaison between management and staff and keeps supervisor apprised of early personnel and clinic issues.
Essential Job Functions:
- Trains new and existing employees.
- Answers day-to-day physician inquiries.
- Answers day-to-day MA inquiries.
- Act as a liaison between management and peers.
- Assists in supervision of work and performance of back-office staff.
- Assists with clinic scheduling problem solving, patient wait times and other areas of concern to increase efficiency and quality services.
- Assists with daily and monthly quality assurance reviews and monitoring.
- Assures clinics are stocked with appropriate supplies and medication, responsible for supply orders and counts.
- Assists with arranging clinic coverage.
- Responsible for identifying when medical office equipment is due for calibration.
- Reviews policies and procedures prior to implementation.
- Reviews processes prior to implementation.
- Performs continuous process improvement.
- Performs other administrative tasks and clinical care as assigned by the Clinical Manager, Clinical Supervisor, Practice Manager, and Chief Operating Officer.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Required to receive influenza vaccine annually.
- Medical Assistant diploma or certification required.
- Minimum four (4) years of medical assistant experience required.
- Knowledge and appropriate use of medical terminology required.
- Must have excellent communication, interpersonal and computer skills.
- Prior experience working in an urgent care or specialty setting preferred.
